My Core Values:
1. Jesus Christ is Preeminent.
Jesus is my Lord and Savior and He will be FIRST in my life above everything else. It will be with prayer and discernment that I make any decisions regarding my career.
Colossians 1:18, “And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.”
2. Humility is not optional.
As an actor, it's easy to become prideful and arrogant...but my goal is to swim against the current.
1 Peter 5:5, “Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
3. My Primary Call is to be a Disciple of Jesus.
I believe that I have been called by God into the filmmaking industry. But first and foremost, I am called as a disciple of Jesus Christ, my life purpose is to know God by having a personal relationship with Jesus and to bring Him Glory in whatever I do.
Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
4. Esteem Others as more important than myself.
Jesus, Others, You...is the age old formula for biblical Joy and I stand by it. I'm a loyal friend and I feel deep compassion for others.
Philippians 2:3, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”
5. Embracing Critique
I will embrace critique because I know this is how I will grow. I want to be excellent in everything I do as if I'm working for the Lord. I will stand up for myself but also allow room for improvement.
Proverbs 11:14, “Where there is no guidance, peoples fall, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
6. The Favor of the Lord is my Greatest Asset.
Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (My Career Verse!)
Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.”
Psalm 5:12, “For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O Lord, You surround him with favor as with a shield."
Several of these core value's wording were borrowed from the Christian Worldview Film Festival which has had a transformative impact on my walk with Christ and my career dreams.
